Hi all. It’s been a few months, hasn’t it? I used to update this blog at least once a month. Well, the truth is, I’ve had a lot on my plate. In addition to the obvious stresses of the plague and of course the hellscape that is American electoral chatter, I started a new job in a whole new industry recently (one that gives me next to no free time). I’ve also been busting my ass to make myself mentally healthier, and I’m going to be starting a diet soon, because my ballooning weight has been a sore spot for me for quite some time. Not for any particular social or dysmorphic reason, but because about 2 years ago I was at a really good weight, and then my depression & trauma kicked in, and I wolfed junk food almost exclusively. As a result I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life, which upsets me because I worked hard to get to that weight and now it’s been reversed and then some.
I’ve also been trying to read more, I’m currently digging my way through volume one of Capital, and I’m intermittently reading The Plague (because a good friend of mine finally read Anarchism and the Black Revolution, which you absolutely must if you haven’t already, it’s so damn good). I also got back into comic books again, which is a huge thing for me, because I haven’t had a pull list in the better part of almost three years now, and I’ve been a lifelong comic book fan. I’m currently entering the final phases of my self-improvement plan for better mental health, which are ironically the longest part. But they’ll also be the least time consuming, so there’s that.
I can’t promise this blog will be as frequently updated as it used to be, but for some reason people actually like how I write, and my article on Dengism has been getting traction lately – special shoutout to the comrades at Worker’s Spatula for the signal boost – so I guess I should keep this around. I also have a DeviantArt page now, where I post the covers to books I’m reading / have read / intend to read. So if you’d like to see more of my illustrations, especially the ones I put more time into, check that out. Thank you for reading, hopefully I’ll post something that’s been on my backburner (drafts) in the near future!
